Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to join our team in Horseheads, New York. This is a full-time position operating on a 15 days on / 6 days off rotating schedule, offering competitive pay and the opportunity to build a stable long-term career in commercial transportation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely and in compliance with all federal, state, and local DOT regulations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR)
- Complete all assigned routes and deliveries on time and according to dispatch instructions
- Load and unload cargo as required, following proper safety and weight distribution procedures
- Maintain accurate driving logs and records of duty status in compliance with FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
- Communicate promptly with dispatch regarding route status, delays, or incidents
- Adhere to all company safety policies, customer site requirements, and traffic laws at all times
- Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to management immediately
- Keep vehicle clean, fueled, and properly maintained; report maintenance needs as they arise
- Complete all required paperwork, bills of lading, and delivery documentation accurately
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience
- Clean MVR — no major violations within the past 3 years
- Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Must meet FMCSA medical certification requirements
- Ability to commit to a 15 days on / 6 days off rotating schedule, including nights and weekends
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and HOS compliance
- Ability to read maps, route instructions, and delivery documents
Preferred
- Hazmat endorsement
- Experience with flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailers
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Previous experience operating in New York or the greater Northeast region
- SCHEDULE
This position operates on a 15 days on / 6 days off rotating schedule. Shifts may include days, nights, and weekends depending on operational needs. Drivers will be dispatched out of or near the Horseheads, NY area. Overnight or multi-day routes may be required depending on assignment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit and operate a commercial vehicle for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to climb in and out of cab and trailer safely
