Looking for a high-caliber Project Manager to lead the end-to-end execution of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You will own the project lifecycle from Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) through to Final Completion, serving as the central hub for internal teams, clients, EPCs, and vendors to deliver a seamless, turn-key solution.
Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, joint venture partners, and equipment vendors. Manage expectations regarding performance, timelines, and technical requirements.
Team Leadership: Assemble project teams, delegate responsibilities, and mentor staff. You are responsible for fostering accountability and "positive action" across cross-functional groups.
Strategic Planning: Develop full-scale project plans, identify critical paths/dependencies, and proactively devise contingency plans for potential crises or scope changes.
Partner with Sales and Application Engineering for project due diligence.
Collaborate with system designers to ensure plans meet local codes and site-specific constraints.
Provide technical and commercial support to legal teams during EPC Contract negotiations.
Direct Project Engineers to ensure design accuracy and attend client engineering reviews.
Manage major equipment vendors via recurring technical, logistical, and commercial alignment calls.
Oversee the Project Coordinator to ensure day-to-day administrative and logistical flow.
On-site Integrity: Ensure systems are installed to plan to maximize lifespan and performance.
Safety Leadership: Enforce all Environmental, Health, and Safety (H&S) protocols; coordinate supplier quality audits with the Procurement team.
Documentation: Rigorously review project artifacts for contract compliance and completeness.
Maintain and report monthly on project budget, payment status, and KPIs.
Lead weekly/monthly progress meetings with clients and internal executive leadership.
Conduct post-mortems to capture "lessons learned" and improve company-wide best practices.
Education: Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (strongly preferred).
Experience: 5+ years of construction project management, specifically in utility-scale renewables (Solar or BESS).
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Medium Voltage (MV) power systems, National Electrical Codes, and PV/Storage applications.
Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6, and the broader MS 365 suite.
Soft Skills: Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills; ability to influence executives and site crews alike.
