Our client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify the accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro to ensure timely and accurate employee payments.
  • Support compliance efforts related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist in internal audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting activities to support organizational goals.
  • Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards when applicable.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or progress toward certification (required)
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or governmental accounting environments.
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms; experience with Workday or UltiPro is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex and experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes.
  • Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10-key typing skills; experience with double-entry bookkeeping is essential.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP standards as well as technical accounting principles; experience with SOX compliance is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with strong math aptitude; ability to interpret financial data effectively.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support audit activities confidently.
