Large enough to provide a broad range of experiences but small enough to retain a flexible environment. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to play a key role in our ODOT Statewide Overhead Sign inspections contract.  This candidate can be located in Lexington, Kentucky, Columbus, Ohio, or Nashville, TN. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in ancillary structure inspection and ancillary structure design/repair. This position requires the ability to manage projects, liaise with clients and government agencies, and perform both structural inspections and design. Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Responsible for projects of varying size and complexity from inception to completion.
  • Takes an active role in contract negotiations, project planning, project quality, and project profitability.
  • Oversees project budgets.  
  • Responsible for project schedules and the timely completion of projects.
  • Ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Provides leadership in client management, proposal preparation, project scoping, and estimating project costs.
  • Responsible for maintaining meaningful relationships with clients.
  • Available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
  • Directs and supervises the work of project teams and support staff.
    Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
  • Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receive such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
  • This position can require up to 50% travel.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management.  
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation structure inspection.
    Must have a Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
  • Experience in the inspection of ancillary structures strongly preferred.
    Experience in ancillary structure design/repair is a plus.
