Purchasing Agent 

Job Summary

We are seeking a Purchasing Agent with a background in purchasing to join our team. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of purchase orders and other operational processes. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will require a professional demeanor when interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Timely review and execution of purchase orders and other operational processes.

  • Ensure accurate purchase order placement according to the SOD Buy Sheet.

  • Review purchase order acknowledgments and confirm purchase order credentials.

  • Aid in resolving invoice discrepancies to ensure timely payment to vendors.

  • Assist in maintaining the SOD Buy Sheet.

  • Recognize and escalate issues or problems as needed.

  • Maintain professional representation with all vendors, customers, and associates.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and maintain excellent working relationships within the organization and with vendor counterparts.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of purchasing agent experience.

  • 1-2 years of experience with Microsoft Excel.

  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Additional Details

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (with a 30-minute lunch).

  • Hours: 40 hours per week.

  • Location: The role is in-office for the first few weeks of training. After the training period, the position will be hybrid, with Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the office and Mondays and Fridays remote. Further details will be discussed during the interview.
