Job Overview
This is a one-year contract position with the possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate will conduct thorough background investigations for both new hires and contractors. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to background information.
Location: This is an on-site position in Richmond, VA. Candidates must be local or willing to commute.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive background investigations on candidates for employment and contractors seeking access to company facilities.
Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements for collecting individual background information.
Interview individuals both inside and outside the company regarding a candidate's character and reputation.
Provide consultation on candidate suitability for employment or facility access.
Maintain and manage databases to support security programs and access control systems.
Analyze applications and reports to ensure all information is accurate, complete, and truthful.
Demonstrate proficiency with various software applications, including SAP and MS Office.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: At least two years of hands-on experience handling background checks and sensitive information as a security specialist. Experience in the utilities field or at large corporations is a plus.
Integrity: Maintain the highest standards of integrity and honesty while handling sensitive data and following established protocols.
Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex information and make well-informed decisions.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-Oriented: A strong attention to detail is essential for this role.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Time Management: Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
