Location: Remote (Must reside in SC, NC, GA, FL, TN, KY, VA, WV, MD, or TX) with extensive travel (60%+)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Juniper Network Engineer/Subject Matter Expert (SME) II to join our team. This role requires significant travel to DoD Military Treatment Facilities worldwide to support critical LAN/WLAN upgrade projects. When not traveling, the position is fully remote.
Responsibilities:
Participate as a key member of the LAN/WLAN Site Survey and Install Team.
Install (rack mount) and configure Layer 2/3 edge switches (Juniper EX4300 required; experience with Cisco 3850/9300’s and Ruckus ICX-7450/7550’s is a plus).
Possess the physical ability to lift and install Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS) and Battery Packs (70 + lbs.).
Assist with survey design and the creation of install closeout documentation using MS Excel and Visio.
Required Experience & Skills:
A minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience configuring Layer 2/3 edge switches, with strong expertise in Juniper LAN and IP-based switches (required).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Education & Certifications:
Required: Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (must be obtained prior to starting).
Required: Technical Training in LAN or WLAN Communications.
Highly Desired: CCNA or other OEM vendor certification.
Plus: CWNA certification.
Other Requirements:
Extensive Travel (60% +) required (U.S. and International to non-combat locations).
Required: Current government security clearance (Secret).
Required: Must have or be able to obtain an International Passport.
