Field Sales Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA resident - Remote & Travel required
Travel Reimbursement: Excellent hotel accommodations, per diem, cell phone, dinner expenses, flights booked.
Car Allowance: $750 per month

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Field Sales Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth and managing business within a defined territory. As a key player in our organization, you will identify potential customers, solve application challenges, and develop relationships with both existing and new distribution partners. Your strong technical background in automation and control products will enable you to influence design decisions at end customers while educating them and our partners on our offerings.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships through regular sales calls to both existing and prospective clients.
  • Enhance OEM business in alignment with company strategy.
  • Participate early in the customer design cycle to improve outcomes and ensure successful project results.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of closing sales and achieving targets.
  • Log all activities in Salesforce, our CRM platform, ensuring accurate and timely data input.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues on customer sites and provide creative solutions to challenges.
  • Work with distributors and engineering teams to specify products tailored to customer needs.
  • Provide updates on new or improved products to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct training sessions for distributors and end-user OEMs on product offerings and sales promotions.
  • Prepare competitive quotes and assess opportunities for expanding or reducing distributor networks.
  • Assist OEMs with technical design and product implementation through the production stage while promoting product solutions.
  • Motivate distributor channels to enhance sales performance and strengthen market presence.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical sales, field engineering, or related roles.
  • Experience in B2B sales, preferably within technical or engineering industries.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies and CRM systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong technical aptitude with a solid understanding of engineering
  • Experience with CAD software and technical documentation is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 50% to meet clients, attend trade shows, and visit project sites.
