CNC Machinist (High Speed) – $25–$40/hr + $5,000 Sign-On Bonus | Hartford, WI

1 Opening – Choose Your Shift: Traditional 1st Shift, 12-Hour Day Shift, or 12-Hour Night Shift

Join the Tooling department of a growing, state-of-the-art investment casting facility in Hartford, WI! Our 5-axis CNC machining capability is a major and growing focus for the department, and we're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to help build out this team in a clean, brand-new, air-conditioned facility.

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay: $25.00–$35.00/hour, depending on experience (exceptional candidates with strong 5-axis experience may be considered up to $40/hour)
  • Sign-On Bonus: $5,000, paid in four installments (approximately 60 days, 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year)
  • Quarterly Performance Variable Compensation (PVC) Bonus: ~$100–$120/quarter
  • Annual Merit Reviews: Every March, based on performance and attendance
  • Overtime: Available, not mandatory
  • Schedule Options (pick one — this is a fixed shift, not a rotation between them):
    • 1st Shift (Traditional): Monday–Friday, approximately 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
    • 12-Hour Day Shift: 2-2-3 schedule (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days — repeat), 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
    • 12-Hour Night Shift: 2-2-3 schedule (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days — repeat), 6:00 PM–6:00 AM

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools, including 5-axis machines (Grob, Yasda, Brother, DNG, Morisaki), to fit and assemble parts for tooling repair and fabrication
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, materials, speeds, and feeds to machine components to tight tolerances (up to +/- .00005")
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering documentation to determine machining methods and sequences
  • Understand CNC programs (FANUC, HEIDENHAIN, and/or Siemens controls) and make occasional edits as needed — full-time programming is not required
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify accuracy of finished parts
  • Use cutting tools such as drills, reamers, taps, end mills, and face mills for metal removal
  • Communicate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing teams to exchange technical information
  • Follow all safety, health, quality, and housekeeping standards

What You'll Need

  • High school diploma or HSED/GED equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of general machining experience; toolmaker experience preferred
  • 5-axis CNC machining experience
  • CNC machine setup and tool change/changeover experience
  • Ability to understand and make occasional edits to CNC programs
  • Knowledge of G and M codes; familiarity with FANUC, HEIDENHAIN, and/or Siemens controls
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn new processes
  • Nice-to-have: mills and lathes experience, leadership experience, aerospace or tight-tolerance machining background

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to handle tools and controls
  • Strong fine motor skills; comfortable working on sensitive or delicate parts
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Close vision and ability to adjust focus required
  • Clean, air-conditioned, brand-new facility with moderate noise levels
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles

PPE

  • Safety glasses and safety shoes required in all manufacturing areas
  • Additional PPE may be required as needed
