Job Description

Project Engineer

Schedule: Monday–Friday | Typically 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (50–60 hours/week as project demands require)
Compensation: $45,000–$60,000 + Performance Bonus

Responsibilities

Project Administration & Documentation

  • Organize and maintain project files, contracts, permits, submittals, and project records
  • Support contract and subcontract administration
  • Ensure project documentation meets company and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with maintaining project schedules and calendars
  • Track project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Coordinate activities between field teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients
  • Serve as a point of contact for project-related communication
  • Prepare meeting minutes, project updates, and status reports
  • Support client communication and relationship management
  • Assist with invoice processing and project billing
  • Track project costs, expenditures, change orders, and budget performance
  • Maintain project reporting, backlog reports, and work-in-progress documentation
  • Support project inspections and quality documentation
  • Assist with risk identification and issue resolution
  • Ensure project activities comply with safety and quality standards
  • Coordinate closeout documentation, warranties, and final project records
  • Assist with as-built documentation and project turnover requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with Bluebeam preferred
  • Construction, civil engineering, project coordination, or related experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn project management and estimating software
  • Civil plan reading experience is helpful but not required
  • Self-motivated with a desire to build a long-term career in construction

  • Microsoft Project experience
