Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic - Direct Hire

Location: Aurora, IL
Schedule: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Pay: $31.25 – $45.00/hour
Position Type: Full-Time | Union Position

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and vehicle systems

• Maintain and repair forklifts, gantry cranes, spotter trucks, end loaders, air compressors, Tuckerbilts, and diesel-powered equipment

• Perform preventive maintenance and complete assigned work orders

• Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems

• Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and repair diagrams

• Complete maintenance documentation and repair records

• Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

• Support occasional on-call maintenance needs for equipment breakdowns

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of vehicle, diesel, or heavy equipment maintenance experience

• Strong diesel engine diagnostic and repair skills

• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and repair diagrams

• Basic welding and fabrication experience

• High school diploma or trade school equivalent
