Pump Mechanic

Pay: $30-45 an hour

Shift: 7am - 4pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, rebuild, paint, and prepare pumps and rotating equipment for shipment.

• Diagnose equipment failures and determine required repairs or replacement components.

• Perform repairs on centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, reciprocating, and metering pumps.

• Repair and rebuild gear reducers, blowers, mechanical seals, and related equipment.

• Conduct pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing on repaired equipment.

• Read and interpret pump sectional drawings, machine drawings, and OEM manuals.

• Prepare detailed inspection reports outlining repair recommendations and required parts.

• Assist with training and mentoring shop personnel.

• Monitor repair progress and help coordinate workflow to meet customer deadlines.

• Support shop leadership in executing daily operations and maintaining quality standards.

• Interact professionally with customers and provide exceptional service.

• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a pump repair or rotating equipment repair facility.

• Strong experience repairing API centrifugal pumps and engineered pumping equipment.

• Thorough understanding of API 610 standards and related industry specifications.

• Ability to make technical repair decisions and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.

• Experience with equipment teardown, inspection, assembly, and testing.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical documentation.

• Experience installing, removing, and testing mechanical seals preferred.

• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic tools.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Additional Requirements

• Successful completion of a background check, physical examination, and drug screening required.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
