Skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Multi-Craft)

Location: Orrville, OH
Shift: 2nd Shift | Sunday–Thursday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay: Up to $32.45/hour + Shift Premiums + $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

This is a hands-on, multi-craft maintenance position supporting highly automated food manufacturing equipment. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, preventing downtime, and working as part of a skilled maintenance team.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, VFDs, electrical controls, and electronic equipment
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical failures
  • Repair processing, filling, and packaging equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
  • Perform welding and fabrication as needed
  • Assist with refrigeration and ammonia system maintenance (training provided)
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime
  • Support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Cross-train across multiple departments and equipment types
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation
  • Follow all food safety and plant safety procedures

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial electrical systems
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors, pumps, and power transmission
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
  • Basic welding and fabrication experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Willingness to learn ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and positive attitude

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a food manufacturing environment supporting highly automated production equipment. You'll work with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and refrigeration systems while helping maintain reliable production across multiple departments. Work may include cold environments, elevated work areas, and emergency equipment repairs.
