Skilled Maintenance / Electronic Technician

Location: Orrville, OH
Shift: Tuesday–Saturday | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Pay: $26.64 - $32.45 per hour + Shift Premiums + Up to $7.00/hr in Skill Premiums
Sign-On Bonus: $3,000

What You'll Do

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production and processing equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, VFDs, electrical controls, motors, sensors, and instrumentation

  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and refrigeration systems

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints

  • Repair processing, filling, conveying, and packaging equipment

  • Support equipment reliability initiatives and continuous improvement projects

  • Cross-train throughout multiple production departments

  • Help minimize downtime through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills

  • Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, motors, controls, and industrial electrical systems

  • Mechanical maintenance experience including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors, welding, and power transmission

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints

  • Strong troubleshooting mindset with a willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting

  • Ammonia refrigeration experience

  • Food manufacturing experience

  • Industrial maintenance certifications

  • Lean manufacturing experience

Schedule

Regular Shift

  • Tuesday–Saturday

  • 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

  • Overtime available and expected as business needs require

Training

  • Approximately 30 days on 1st Shift

  • Monday–Friday

  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • May transition sooner based on demonstrated skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • $26.64/hr Semi-Skilled Maintenance

  • $32.45/hr Skilled Maintenance

  • Additional department and skill premiums available

  • Earn up to an additional $7.00/hour through certifications and demonstrated skills

  • $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

    • $1,500 after 6 months

    • $1,500 after 1 year

Work Environment

This position primarily supports the Ice Cream production facility and other departments as needed. Work is performed on active production equipment and may require:

  • Working in freezer environments

  • Working in temperatures as low as 30 below zero

  • Climbing and working at heights up to 60 feet

  • Lifting up to 75 pounds

  • Wearing a respirator and safety harness when required
