Health & Safety Engineer
A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Health & Safety Engineer to support daily environmental, health, and safety initiatives at a production facility in central Pennsylvania. This position partners closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive compliance, reduce risk, prevent injuries, and promote a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain health and safety systems to ensure regulatory compliance and injury prevention.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to execute safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Analyze injury and incident trends and assist with implementing corrective actions and prevention strategies.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking.
- Assist in the management of industrial hygiene programs, exposure monitoring, and hazardous material processes.
- Support PPE assessments, selection, and program administration.
- Conduct and support safety audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs.
- Stay current with applicable OSHA, state, and local regulations.
- Help maintain safety metrics, reporting systems, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with employees and leadership to identify, evaluate, and reduce workplace risks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety performance and human performance systems.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of Health & Safety experience in manufacturing.
- Experience with OSHA compliance programs.
- Industrial hygiene experience, including exposure monitoring and sampling.
- Experience with behavior-based safety programs.
- Ergonomic assessment experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Power BI or advanced Excel reporting and analytics.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $65,000–$75,000
