Automation Technician - Richfield/Germantown, WI - Day/Night Shifts
- Location: Richfield, WI or Germantown, WI
- Shift: 12-Hour day/night Shift, 2-2-3 schedule
- Pay: $30-$43/hour
- Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
Position Overview
The Automation Technician I supports end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), robots, and automated assembly machinery in a manufacturing environment. This role also assists with process improvements and supports new project launches for major healthcare customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules, standard operating procedures, and GMP/GDP guidelines.
- Perform robotic programming, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Support automated machinery during production by resolving technical issues.
- Train others on assembly machines and robot setups.
- Troubleshoot assembly and auxiliary equipment such as pad printers, sonic welders, heat stakers, and hot stampers.
- Identify unsafe equipment and ensure safe operation before line start-up.
- Set up robots, EOAT, conveyors, degators, and secondary equipment.
- Operate automation cells and act as the first point of contact for technical issues.
- Assist in creating technical documentation and training materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical college coursework or a bachelor's program in a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Fork truck and Lockout/Tagout certifications.
- Experience with conventional manufacturing equipment (mills, lathes, saws, hand tools).
- Knowledge of 6-axis and SCARA robots (e.g., Fanuc).
- Toolmaker or machine-builder experience is a plus.
