Location: Must be willing to move to North Carolina (within 1 hour of Clinton, Tar Heel, or Kinston)

Travel: 70–80% (nationwide, including some weekends)


Overview:
We are hiring a Strategic Project Engineering Manager to lead large-scale automation and engineering projects across multiple manufacturing sites. This role is responsible for managing projects from concept through execution, working closely with internal teams, vendors, and plant leadership to deliver high-impact solutions. This is a highly visible role with strong growth potential and exposure across multiple facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead full lifecycle project management for multimillion-dollar engineering projects
  • Develop project scope, budgets, timelines, and execution plans
  • Design and support equipment layouts, utilities, and automation systems
  • Use AutoCAD (2D/3D) to support project design and documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful execution
  • Manage installation, startup, and final acceptance of equipment and systems
  • Review proposals, bids, and contracts to ensure compliance and cost effectiveness
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies
  • Maintain detailed documentation including drawings, manuals, and specifications
  • Support cross-functional teams across multiple facilities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of engineering/project management experience
  • 2+ years of leadership or project leadership experience
  • Experience managing large, complex capital projects
  • Strong AutoCAD experience (2D and 3D required)
  • Experience in food processing and packaging environments required
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, contract management, and engineering economics
  • Ability to travel extensively (70–80%)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary up to $141,000
  • Target bonus around $20,000
  • Relocation assistance available
