Role Summary
The Proposal Engineer is responsible for developing detailed machine quotations and technical proposals by analyzing customer drawings, part requirements, and production needs. This role is ideal for an experienced CNC or manufacturing professional who enjoys technical analysis, estimating, and documentation, and is looking for a stable, office-focused engineering position.
Key Responsibilities
Create machine quotations and technical proposals, including cycle time studies and detailed part process documentation.
Review customer drawings to determine appropriate machine selection, materials, tooling, runtimes, and production quantities.
Perform time studies and detailed quoting once customer interest has been established.
Develop and maintain technical documentation using CAD/CAM, virtual machine tools, and standard office software.
Manage proposal and quoting workload within CRM systems, ensuring accuracy, organization, and on-time delivery.
Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors to support complete and accurate proposals.
Support sales teams by providing technical feasibility analysis and cost justification.
Maintain proposal files and documentation in compliance with ISO quality standards.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of manufacturing experience within the CNC or machine tool industry.
Hands-on understanding of CNC machining, machine setup, tooling, and part production.
Strong experience with time studies, estimating, and quoting from technical drawings.
Background as a Proposal Engineer, CNC Programmer, or Manufacturing Engineer is required
