Plant Manager - 1st shift - Akron, Ohio

Salary Range: $115,000 – $130,000 base + annual bonus
Shift: 1st shift

Manufacturing Processes

• Mixing and blending

• Encapsulation

• Powder filling

• Packaging

• Third shift focused primarily on sanitation and cleaning

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all plant operations including production, safety, quality, sanitation, and maintenance

• Lead and manage a workforce of approximately 80–100 employees across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts

• Directly manage approximately 5 department leaders and supervisors

• Maintain strong floor presence (approximately 50% on the production floor, 50% administrative)

• Ensure compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and regulatory standards

• Drive daily execution, efficiency, and accountability across all departments

• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and labor utilization

• Partner with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime

• Address operational issues quickly and effectively

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on execution and consistency

• Serve as an escalation point for operational issues as needed (limited after-hours involvement)

Experience & Background Requirements

• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a plant or facility setting

• Experience in food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or similar regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred

• Experience in “clean” manufacturing environments required

• Metals, plastics, or heavy industrial manufacturing backgrounds are not ideal fits

• Mechanically inclined leadership style is a plus

• Proven ability to lead through presence, accountability, and execution
