As a PAM Operator, you will operate and maintain a plasma arc furnace to melt raw materials into large metal slabs (10,000–30,000 lbs).
Key responsibilities include:
Set up and operate plasma furnaces for melting and casting
Load raw materials and unload finished ingots
Perform vacuum pump-downs and system checks
Monitor gauges, meters, video systems, and data logs
Adjust furnace parameters and torch patterns
Interpret basic chemistry and furnace conditions
Maintain accurate production and maintenance records
Perform hands-on maintenance:
Change molds, hearths, shields, and components
Leak detection and vacuum testing
Basic welding, cutting, soldering, and repairs
Operate forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment
Follow all safety, PPE, and housekeeping standards
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (export-controlled environment)
3+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
Heavy manufacturing
Industrial maintenance
Furnace, foundry, melt, or heat-treat operations
Mechanical, welding, or fabrication roles
Strong mechanical aptitude and tool experience
Ability to learn complex equipment on the job
Comfortable working in hot, loud, industrial environments
High school diploma or GED
Furnace, melt, or vacuum system experience
Welding or fabrication skills
Forklift and overhead crane experience
Rigging experience
Trade school or technical training
