Develop efficient machining processes, setups, and tooling plans to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Program CNC mills and lathes based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Machine parts to tight tolerances (±0.001”) using proper machining practices.
Create custom tooling, fixtures, and work-holding for complex jobs.
Use CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Mastercam, Camworks) to create machining programs.
Operate and troubleshoot various CNC machines, ensuring consistent part quality.
Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, telescoping gauges, and spectrometers.
Support secondary operations such as deburring, cutting raw material, and general machine shop tasks.
Assist with equipment preventive maintenance and maintain 5S standards for tools and work areas.
Maintain production goals, equipment efficiency, and quality standards.
Able to create programs and upload to machinery
Skilled in setting up tooling, fixtures, jaws, indicators, and work-holding for prototype and production runs.
Solid understanding of tooling selection, machining parameters, feeds, and speeds.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
8+ years of CNC mill and lathe setup/operation experience — or trade school certification plus 4 years of experience.
