Senior Machinist/CNC Programmer - Hialeah, FL - 1st Shift
- Location: Hialeah, FL
- Shift: 1st shift, 6am-4pm
- Pay: $24–$34 per hour
Primary Responsibilities
- Program CNC mills and lathes using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Mastercam, and Camworks.
- Develop machining strategies, optimize tooling, and create efficient setups for production and prototype runs.
- Machine precision parts to specification, ensuring tolerances of ±0.001".
- Design and fabricate custom tooling, jigs, and work-holding fixtures.
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers (OD/ID), height gauges, protractors, dial indicators, telescoping gauges, and spectrometers.
- Maintain machine utilization and quality targets, ensuring consistent adherence to production schedules.
- Perform secondary operations such as deburring, cutting raw materials, and general machine shop support.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, maintain clean and organized work areas, and follow 5S standards.
- Ensure tooling is maintained, properly stored, and ready for use.
Experience & Educational Requirements
- Ability to read CAD drawings per ASME Y14.5 and apply GD&T.
- Strong understanding of G/M-Code (EIA RS-274-D).
- Skilled in setting jaws, tools, stops, indicators, and various work-holding methods.
- Thorough knowledge of tool selection, speeds and feeds, and machining best practices.
- Ability to diagnose process issues and optimize machining efficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of CNC mill/lathe setup and operation or trade school certification plus 4 years of setup experience.

- Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or advanced machining/toolmaker training preferred.
- Experience machining metals and plastics with high-precision tolerances.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, climbing, bending, kneeling, and hearing communication.
- Occasional sitting.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
