CNC Maintenance Technician - Hartford, WI - Day Shift
- Location: Hartford, WI
- Shift: Day shift (6am-6pm, 2-2-3)
- Pay: $28-$38/hour + $.25 shift premium
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on motors, conveyors, mechanical systems, production machinery, and facility equipment.
- Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, manuals, engineering specifications, and equipment documentation.
- Identify mechanical problems by observing equipment, listening for issues, and using precision testing tools.
- Remove, repair, and replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
- Use measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other gauges to verify part accuracy and proper equipment function.
- Adjust machine components and control devices using hand tools, levels, digital multimeters, straightedges, and related tools.
- Operate forklifts, electric carts, articulating booms, and man lifts.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and robotic troubleshooting and basic repair.
- Handle light plumbing and carpentry tasks as needed.
- Identify faulty operations, defective materials, or process issues and report or correct as required.
- Minimize downtime through proper scheduling and coordination of maintenance tasks.
- Fabricate basic repair parts using machine shop equipment.
- Maintain inventory levels for parts and supplies; anticipate needs and verify received items.
- Provide technical assistance and respond to maintenance-related inquiries.
- Prepare maintenance reports and documentation to track work performed and identify trends.
- Stay updated on equipment and maintenance practices through training, publications, and internal learning opportunities.
- Document work performed and communicate issues or ongoing needs to the team.
- Able to operate precision measurement tools and lifting devices.
- Broad knowledge of manufacturing, tooling, equipment, and materials.
- Familiar with ISO/TS quality systems.
- Contribute to team tasks and department goals as needed.
- No supervisory duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One to two years of technical training plus at least five years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Able to read and work from electrical and hydraulic schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Strong computer and learning skills.
Communication Skills
- Able to communicate effectively with coworkers, share information, and train less experienced staff.
- Capable of reading and interpreting complex documents such as blueprints, work plans, and technical instructions.
- Competent in writing maintenance reports and documentation.
Math & Reasoning Skills
- Proficient in basic math, including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
- Able to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, and diagram-based instructions.
