Project Engineer – Structural / Precast Components
Location: Aurora, IL| Full-Time | HYBRID 

Overview
This is not a desk-only position. Project Engineers in this role are involved from design through construction, actively engaging in both office-based modeling and real-world project execution. Ideal for professionals who want to see their work take physical shape, this opportunity offers diverse technical responsibilities, project collaboration, and clear paths for growth and leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural project design efforts from planning through construction phases, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Perform structural analysis and design of precast concrete components and connection details.

  • Develop detailed construction documents and drawings using CAD and BIM software.

  • Conduct 3D finite element modeling and structural performance analysis.

  • Identify scope or structural issues early and propose practical, cost-effective solutions.

  • Manage workload, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy within budget constraints.

  • When designated as a Task or Project Lead, oversee technical staff and support their development.

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices in structural design.

  • Assist in the creation and improvement of design templates, checklists, and process standards.

  • Support billing and resource allocation efforts on an as-needed basis.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering required; Master’s preferred.

  • Demonstrated project design experience in structural or precast engineering with career progression.

  • Proficient in CAD and BIM environments; working knowledge of finite element analysis software.

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to work across disciplines and client teams.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic project environment.
