Stone Bridge Personnel is a local staffing agency here in Fort Worth, TX. We are seeking a Production Support Engineer for one of our clients in Fort Worth, TX.

We are looking for a Production Support Engineer I to be responsible for providing crucial production floor support while supporting the creation and maintenance of assembly work instructions, routing data, and bills of material for our defense electro-mechanical products. Works closely with senior team members to develop skills and gain exposure to various aspects of the manufacturing process.

Job Duties:
  • Production Support: Provide floor support during production.
  • Provide technical support to production teams during the manufacturing process, troubleshoot basic technical issues under guidance, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Gain hands-on experience and familiarity with various types of equipment and tools on the production floor.
  • Understanding Customer Specifications: Review and apply customer specifications in production.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer and industry specifications, ensuring they are appropriately applied during the manufacturing process. Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance and meet customer requirements.
  • Assembly Work Instructions: Develop and update assembly work instructions.
  • Assist in creating and updating assembly work instructions for new defense electro-mechanical products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards. Collaborate with experienced team members to develop your skills and gain exposure to various aspects of the manufacturing process.
  • Routing and Bill of Material (BOM) Management: Create and maintain routings and BOMs in ERP system.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to learn and maintain accurate routings and bills of material in the ERP system, reflecting the most current manufacturing processes and materials used in the production of defense electro-mechanical products.
  • Tooling Research: Research tooling requirements for production.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to research and identify appropriate tooling required during production, contributing to process optimization and overall production efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to process optimization initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, learning to identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings while maintaining product quality and compliance with industry specifications.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain organized manufacturing documentation.
  • Contribute to the documentation management process, ensuring that all records related to assembly work instructions, routings, BOMs, and other manufacturing data are organized and up-to-date.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across the organization.
  • Foster effective communication and teamwork by collaborating with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams, facilitating a seamless integration of processes and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
  • Bid & Proposal Support: Support pricing efforts for bids and proposals.
  • Assist the bid and proposal team in pricing efforts by estimating assembly labor and material costs for new defense electro-mechanical projects or product variations, providing valuable input to support strategic decision-making.
Education & Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
Skills, Abilities & Experience:

  • 0-3 years experience in a production engineering or related role, preferably in defense electro-mechanical products
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and basic understanding of assembly work instructions.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems and computer-aided design (CAD) software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and parts lists.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and the ability to follow established procedures.
  • Understanding of basic project management concepts and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of defense industry standards and specifications is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to work on the production floor and gain hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • ISO documentation, CUI, and ITAR understanding and knowledge is a plus
