Electrical Project Manager
$120,000-$140,000
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical contracting projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, and excellent communication skills to successfully manage project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage electrical projects from design through closeout
- Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Ensure compliance with NEC, building codes, and client requirements
- Oversee procurement, submittals, and long‑lead material tracking
- Conduct weekly procurement reviews and provide status updates
- Communicate daily with field teams to align on scope and execution
- Identify drawing/spec gaps and issue RFIs promptly
- Maintain clear information flow to avoid delays and rework
- Perform regular site visits to review progress, manpower, and needs
- Coordinate closely with foremen to support field operations
- Act as primary contact for clients and general contractors
- Manage budgets, costs, change orders, and financial forecasting
- Lead project meetings and maintain tracking systems (RFIs, logs, tasks)
- Maintain documentation and oversee testing, commissioning, and closeout
- Enforce safety standards, conduct audits, mitigate risks, and promote a safety-first culture
- 5+ years of experience managing electrical contracting projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple active projects and teams simultaneously.
- Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, BIM 360, Autodesk, and ACC.
- Strong financial and budget management skills.
- Deep knowledge of NEC and local building/electrical codes.
- Ability to work both in the office and on active job sites.
