Job Description

This individual will be responsible for overseeing all field operations for construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, coordination of multiple trades, and expertise in civil construction disciplines including underground utilities, grading, paving, landscape, hardscape, and masonry.

Scope of Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day field operations, managing crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials across one or multiple projects
  • Ensure all work complies with plans, specifications, codes, and quality standards; interpret construction drawings across civil and landscape scopes
  • Supervise all phases of site development, including underground utilities, grading, paving, landscaping, hardscape, and masonry work
  • Enforce safety standards, conduct safety meetings, and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant job site
  • Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating trade activities to prevent delays and ensure timely completion
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, inspectors, clients, and agencies; coordinate inspections and approvals
  • Maintain quality control through site inspections, testing oversight, and timely resolution of field issues
  • Monitor labor, equipment, and material usage to control costs, improve efficiency, and support project forecasting
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, production tracking, and as-built information

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; construction management or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in construction field supervision
  • Strong experience in civil/site development projects, especially: underground utilities, mass grading, paving, landscape and hardscape, and/or masonry
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and sequencing
  • Strong communication skills with field crews, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Proficiency with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) preferred
