Position Overview
Our firm is supporting a confidential client in the power generation sector seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead execution of turbine maintenance, outage, retrofit, and installation projects.
This role is responsible for managing scope, schedule, cost, and safety while serving as the primary commercial and execution interface between the customer and internal field, engineering, and supply‑chain teams.
Location
United States — primary work in Texas, with 60–80% travel primarily within the U.S.; limited international travel possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage execution of field service, outage, retrofit, and installation projects for gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and supporting equipment
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and scope using approved tools and processes
- Lead pre‑job planning, site walkdowns, and execution strategies
- Manage customer relationships and contractual commitments throughout project lifecycle
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams including engineering, field service, procurement, vendors, and subcontractors
- Oversee safety, environmental, and quality compliance across assigned projects
- Lead customer meetings, outage coordination meetings, and execution reviews
- Manage change orders, cost controls, and schedule adjustments as project conditions evolve
- Provide leadership to coordinators, schedulers, and site teams to ensure successful project outcomes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or business education a plus
- 10+ years experience in power generation, turbine services, or industrial project execution
- 5+ years in a project leadership role managing field or outage‑related work
- Strong understanding of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and balance‑of‑plant systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and multi‑vendor teams
- Comfortable working in high‑pressure outage and field environments
- Strong communication, leadership, and customer‑management skills
