Position Overview
Our firm is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a power generation services organization seeking a Site Service Director (SSD). This is a senior, on‑site leadership role responsible for directing day‑to‑day service, maintenance, and outage activities for large rotating equipment at customer facilities.
The SSD serves as the primary on‑site representative to the customer and leads coordination between field labor, contractors, engineering, project management, and commercial teams.
Location
United States — primary assignment in Texas, with domestic travel as needed (approximately 25%).
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on‑site point of contact for the customer during service, maintenance, and outage activities
- Provide technical direction for gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and associated balance‑of‑plant equipment
- Coordinate and manage on‑site field labor, contractors, tooling, parts, and logistics
- Support outage planning, execution, and daily work coordination
- Manage long‑term service agreement (LTSA) support activities and multi‑month site assignments
- Coordinate safety, environmental, and compliance activities in partnership with site supervision
- Communicate regularly with engineering, project management, and commercial teams on technical and schedule matters
- Prepare daily and monthly reports covering progress, safety, cost, and technical issues
- Support emergency outage response and unplanned maintenance events
- Maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication and professional execution
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training preferred
- 10+ years hands‑on experience with rotating equipment in power generation or industrial environments
- 5+ years in a field leadership or site management role
- Strong mechanical understanding of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems
- Proven ability to lead field teams, manage contractors, and coordinate multi‑discipline work
- Strong communication, organization, and customer‑facing skills
- Willingness to work extended hours and rotating shifts during active site assignments
