Controls Commissioning Engineer

*Combined Cycle Power Generation*

Location: Houston, TX (Travel Required)

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Controls Commissioning Engineer to support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and turnover activities on utility-scale Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power generation projects.

This role will lead controls and I&C commissioning activities from Mechanical Completion through First Fire, Synchronization, Reliability Testing, and Commercial Operation.


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Controls / I&C Commissioning experience
  • Direct experience commissioning Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCGT)
  • Experience supporting:
    • First Fire
    • Synchronization
    • Startup & Loading
    • Reliability Runs
    • Turnover to Operations
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with controls, instrumentation, and integrated plant systems
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required

Technical Experience

  • GE Mark VI / Mark VIe
  • Siemens T3000
  • Emerson Ovation
  • ABB or DeltaV systems
  • DCS, PLC, SCADA, and HMI platforms
  • I/O Checkout & Loop Checks
  • Cause & Effect Testing
  • FAT / SAT Execution
  • Interlock & Trip Testing
  • Instrument Calibration Verification
  • Startup and Commissioning Documentation

Preferred Backgrounds

Experience with:

  • LM6000
  • Utility-scale Combined Cycle Power Plants

Previous experience with OEMs, EPC firms, or power producers is highly desirable
