Health & Safety Coordinator (Contract)
Job Type: 6–8 Month Contract
Location: Onsite – 5 Days/Week in Mississauga, Ontario
Hours: 36.25 Hours/Week
Compensation: $28–$32/hour

Position Overview
Staffworks is supporting our client in the search for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their Occupational Health, Safety, Wellbeing & Emergency Response team on a contract basis. This assignment will focus primarily on project coordination, implementation support, and administrative assistance related to health, safety, emergency preparedness, and business continuity initiatives.
This position is ideal for a health & safety professional with strong organizational skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with a collaborative team of four coordinators supporting 11 regions across health & safety, disability management, wellbeing, and emergency response initiatives.
A key focus of this role will be supporting the implementation and rollout of the organization’s new emergency management software platform. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, highly organized, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across various projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and rollout of the OnSolve emergency management platform, including:
- Coordination of implementation activities
- System testing and readiness support
- End-user training coordination and support
- User adoption and troubleshooting assistance
- Assist with the development and enhancement of occupational health & safety programs and initiatives
- Support policy and program development, including drafting:
- Safety alerts
- Legislative change notices
- Training materials and presentations
- Health & safety documentation and communications
- Provide general project coordination and administrative support related to:
- Health & safety initiatives
- Emergency preparedness and response programs
- Business continuity activities
- Maintain accurate records, reports, tracking tools, and documentation
- Coordinate communications and collaborate with internal stakeholders across multiple regions
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools extensively, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Support ongoing compliance and operational activities within the Occupational Health & Safety function
Qualifications
- Formal post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field is required
- Previous experience supporting occupational health & safety, emergency management, business continuity, crisis management, or related programs required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience supporting projects, implementations, or systems rollouts preferred
- Comfortable working with technology-based platforms and evolving processes
- CRSP designation or progress toward certification is considered a strong asset
- Strong written communication skills with experience drafting policies, alerts, training, or procedural documentation preferred
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and project coordination capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with various stakeholders
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative approach

- Fully onsite position, 5 days per week
- No client-facing responsibilities or travel between sites required
