Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting will lead the financial reporting function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information across the organization.

This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting expertise, experience managing audits, and the ability to drive process improvements in a multi-entity environment.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Lead the preparation of consolidated and entity-level financial statements, including supporting notes and disclosures
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Act as a subject matter expert on complex accounting issues and financial reporting implications

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Manage the annual audit process, including coordination with external auditors and timely issue resolution
  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal controls
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address audit findings and strengthen processes

Business Partnership & Operations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accurate financial reporting and operational performance
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making
  • Partner with senior leadership on financial reporting matters and strategic initiatives

Treasury & Cash Flow Support

  • Support cash flow monitoring, forecasting, and banking activities
  • Assist with maintaining effective relationships with financial institutions
  • Contribute to liquidity planning and financial risk management initiatives

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Support the optimization of financial systems and reporting processes
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to enhance data integrity and reporting efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management initiatives
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Designation: CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) required
  • Experience:
    • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting
    • Combination of public accounting (audit) and industry experience preferred
    • Experience in multi-entity or asset-based environments is an asset

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting principles
  • Experience with consolidations and complex reporting structures
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
  • Familiarity with industry-specific financial systems is considered an asset

Leadership & Competencies

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines
  • Proactive, solutions-driven, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits
