Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to serve as the key link between Distribution Centre operations and the trailer movement team. This role is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all trailer activity to ensure safe, timely, and organized yard operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate daily trailer moves between the Distribution Centre (DC) and the yard operations team.
Receive, prioritize, and dispatch trailer movement requests using the Yard Management System (YMS).
Track and update trailer status in real time to maintain visibility and accuracy of all yard activity.
Prepare and communicate the daily shipping schedule, ensuring the right equipment is available when and where it’s needed.
Collaborate with DC personnel to ensure trailers are positioned according to operational requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to trailer availability, placement, or equipment status.
Maintain accurate records of driver activity, including hours and movement logs.
Participate as a member of the emergency response team, assisting in the event of fire, medical, or environmental incidents.

Hours of Work:

This role supports a 7-day operation. The regular work week consists of 40 hours, following DC shift schedules. Current shift: Thursday to Sunday, 5:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (10-hour shifts). Afternoon shifts may also be scheduled as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of experience in a yard or intermodal coordination role.
Background in shunt control or live load operations considered an asset.
Strong focus on customer service and internal partnership.
Capable of performing under pressure in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build rapport with team members and DC staff.
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
