Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support our Regulatory Client in the North York area.
This candidate will be highly skilled in BI, with a solid understanding of SQL queries and T-SQL syntax. Building dashboards will be second nature as will data warehousing and data model design.
This is a contract role until the end of the year, with potential for extension.
Must have skills:
· Solid understanding of SQL queries and T-SQL syntax
· Understanding of analytical database layers, OLAP and multi-dimensional models for BI purposes
· Advanced experience building reports and dashboards with advanced visualizations in Power BI
· Experience in data warehousing, data model design, and SQL Server or Azure SQL
· Experience with development and design of data visualizations, dynamic dashboards, statistical data models, algorithms, data mining and queries
· Experience translating requirements into technical specs
Nice to have skills:
· Experience with business analysis and report requirements gathering
· Experience with 365 Power tools, such as PowerApps, Power Automate
· Experience with Sharepoint Online - utilizing Sharepoint lists
· Data integrations tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Informatica
· Experience with tools and concepts related to data and analytics, such as ETL/ELT, data governance, structured and unstructured data
· Familiarity with R, Python, or other scripting languages for data manipulation
· Understanding of Azure or other cloud-based data tools
· Exposure to machine learning concepts or related data science methodologies
Requirements:
· A University Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
· A minimum of 4 years’ experience in the development of Business Intelligence solutions and Data Science techniques

This job will play a supporting role in the following ongoing projects.
1. Converting Legacy reports to PowerBI reports
2. Developing Effective Dashboards in PowerBI
3. Data Warehouse Expansion.
