Logistics Coordinator
Our client is looking to hire an experienced Logistics Coordinator for a 6 month remote position. Successful completing of this assignment could result in a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
Job Purpose
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily transportation activities, including domestic and international shipments. This role supports global manufacturing and distribution operations and helps drive efficiency, cost savings, and strong vendor relationships. The role emphasizes improving visibility, minimizing transportation costs, and optimizing departmental processes.
Key Responsibilities
- • Track and trace all inbound shipments and maintain up-to-date documentation.
- • Coordinate with drayage service providers and distribution center stakeholders.
- • Build and manage relationships with transportation vendors via regular reviews and meetings.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fulfill transportation needs.
- • Develop standard operating procedures and workflow documentation.
- • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- • Support overflow shipping needs and expedited shipments as necessary.
- • Provide detailed cost analysis for various transportation modes (air, ocean, TL, LTL, drayage, etc.).
- • Perform other related duties as required.
Decision-Making Authority
- • Make decisions on domestic carriers for various shipping needs.
- • Provide input on staffing and equipment needs based on container volume.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or transportation coordination.
- • Experience with international and domestic freight, including ocean and drayage operations.
- • Proven ability to analyze and report transportation data.

- • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication.
- • Proactive and detail-oriented approach.
- • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Pivot Tables.
Additional Assets:
- • Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS).
- • Familiarity with customs regulations and international shipping documentation.
- • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- • Certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., APICS, CPIM) is a plus.
