Job Title: Senior Accountant (Contract)
Duration: Up to 4 months
Location: Onsite – Yorkville, Toronto
Hours: 7 hours/day, Monday to Friday (9:00am–5:00pm or 9:30am–5:30pm)
Salary: $45-$47/hour
Accounting Software: SAGE

Position Overview:
Our client is looking to hire an experienced Senior Accountant (Contract) to support its finance function during a short-term assignment. Reporting to the Controller, the Sr. Accountant will play a key role in general ledger management, financial reporting, budgeting, process documentation, and analysis. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, process-driven, and experienced in working with SAGE accounting software in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support financial operations including general ledger management and financial reporting.
• Provide back-up duties for other finance team members, including preparing financial statements and analysis.
• Prepare process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and templates for key functions.
• Evaluate and streamline workflows to support earlier month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with implementing approved process improvements.
• Contribute to the preparation and documentation for the annual budgeting cycle.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting.
• Strong proficiency in SAGE and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, multi-step formulas).
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Experience preparing documentation for internal processes and workflows.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• High ethical standards and a strong commitment to financial integrity and confidentiality.
