Job Description

Our client is seeking a Mid-Level UI/UX Designer to join their growing Design team on a 6-month contract working 40 hours per week.  This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of enterprise and customer-facing products, helping design intuitive, scalable experiences for complex, data-driven applications.

Design portfolio must be provided.

This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be available to work Eastern Time business hours, with individuals located in the Eastern or Central time zones being the best fit.

What You'll Do

  • Design polished, production-ready user interfaces with strong attention to typography, layout, interaction design, and visual consistency.
  • Create intuitive user experiences for complex enterprise applications, particularly dashboards, data visualization, tables, and information-dense workflows.
  • Balance both User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design, contributing equally across discovery, interaction design, and visual execution.
  • Translate business objectives and user needs into user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.
  • Design responsive experiences that perform seamlessly across web and mobile platforms.
  • Apply accessibility best practices and WCAG guidelines to create inclusive digital experiences.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and stakeholders by asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions, and helping uncover underlying user needs—not simply documenting requirements.
  • Contribute to and evolve design systems, reusable UI components, and design standards.
  • Present design concepts and actively participate in collaborative design reviews.
  • Work independently while taking ownership of projects from concept through delivery.
  • Stay current with UX/UI trends, accessibility standards, and emerging design technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of professional UX/UI or Product Design experience.
  • Strong experience designing enterprise software applications.
  • Experience designing data-heavy interfaces including dashboards, tables, analytics, and complex workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance UX strategy with polished UI design.
  • Hands-on experience using Figma for interface design, prototyping, and collaboration.
  • Experience working closely with Product teams in collaborative, iterative development environments.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and experience applying WCAG guidelines in product design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Portfolio showcasing high-quality visual design, thoughtful UX processes, and production-ready interfaces.
  • Experience creating interactive prototypes to validate and communicate design concepts.
  • Experience contributing to design systems and scalable UI libraries.
  • Experience working within Agile product teams.
  • Accessibility certifications are a plus but are not required.
  • Experience using modern AI tools to support design workflows, research, ideation, or rapid prototyping is a plus.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded designer with an equal passion for both UI and UX. You're comfortable navigating complex enterprise applications and enjoy simplifying data-rich experiences into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.

Success in this role requires someone who:

  • Takes ownership of their work and requires minimal day-to-day direction.
  • Is naturally curious and isn't afraid to ask questions to better understand business problems.
  • Can effectively partner with Product Managers to uncover the true user need rather than simply executing documented requirements.
  • Has strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering polished, accessible user experiences.
