Job Description

Our client, an innovative early-stage technology company, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to partner closely with their CTO and help accelerate the development of a market-ready product designed to drive customer growth and business expansion.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys building products from the ground up, influencing technical strategy, and delivering scalable solutions in a fast-paced startup environment. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership of outcomes, and can operate independently with minimal oversight.

This is a 3–6 month contract position. Candidates must be based in the United States and available to collaborate during Pacific Time business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy new product features into production environments

  • Partner directly with the CTO to establish scalable technical foundations that support long-term product growth

  • Modernize and enhance cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, and overall developer experience

  • Collaborate with leadership and product stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical solutions

  • Evaluate requirements, recommend approaches, and execute projects independently with limited direction

  • Contribute to architectural decisions, engineering best practices, and overall technical strategy within a lean, agile team

Key Initiatives

  • Migrate batch-processing workflows to AWS Step Functions

  • Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and customer-facing product capabilities

  • Support and complete the migration from Svelte 4 to Svelte 5

  • Improve AWS infrastructure, scalability, and operational efficiency

  • Implement automated data quality, monitoring, and validation processes

  • Build foundational platform capabilities that enable future product innovation and growth

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer in production environments

  • Strong hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies:

    • Ruby

    • Svelte, or extensive experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and a willingness to learn Svelte

    • AWS cloud services and infrastructure

  • Experience designing, building, and deploying production-ready software applications and features

  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering principles, cloud-native architectures, and scalable system design

  • Ability to thrive in startup, high-growth, or rapidly evolving environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with AWS Step Functions

  • Experience leading or contributing to frontend framework migrations or major application upgrades

  • Experience building reporting, analytics, or dashboard-driven applications

  • Familiarity with automated data quality, validation, and monitoring processes

  • Previous experience working within startups or early-stage technology companies

  • Familiarity with AI-powered development tools, including Claude Code or similar platforms

What Success Looks Like

Within the first several months, you will:

  • Deliver impactful product features that successfully reach production

  • Establish technical foundations that accelerate future development initiatives

  • Improve the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the platform

  • Become a trusted technical partner to the CTO and broader leadership team

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be:

  • A self-starter who requires minimal onboarding, guidance, or supervision

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating solutions from high-level business objectives

  • A proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges

  • An effective communicator who can collaborate with executives, product leaders, and technical stakeholders

  • Confident in challenging assumptions, contributing ideas, and influencing outcomes

  • Curious, adaptable, and motivated to learn new technologies as business needs evolve
