Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to develop comprehensive internal documentation supporting the engineering development of refrigeration systems. This role is ideal for a creative, self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, flexible environment and can balance independent work with strong cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable shifting tone and voice across multiple brands while maintaining consistency and clarity.
Role is onsite in Conyers, GA.
Key Objectives
Develop comprehensive documentation aligned with organizational standards
Gain deep product knowledge and translate complex technical information into clear, engaging content
Create user-focused documentation that supports engineering teams and end users
Build and maintain a robust database of reference materials, including research findings, usability tests, and design specifications
Evaluate existing content and implement innovative documentation improvements
Responsibilities
Research, outline, write, and edit technical content in partnership with cross-functional teams
Collaborate with subject-matter experts to produce user manuals, technical specifications, bulletins, and process documentation
Work with development and support leaders to identify documentation repositories, improve content organization, and centralize data storage
Develop and maintain information architecture templates that comply with organizational and legal standards and enable seamless data migration
Produce content in alternative media formats to enhance usability and ensure a consistent voice across all documentation
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience as a technical writer in a technical or engineering-driven environment
Proven ability to quickly understand and communicate complex subject matter
Experience creating documentation and user manuals for engineering and technical audiences
Exceptional written communication skills with strong attention to detail
Experience collaborating with engineers to enhance user experience, refine technical content, and develop visuals and diagrams
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
Strong technical proficiency, including experience with:
AutoCAD
SolidWorks
Adobe Creative Suite
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
AS400
MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) and/or ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Experience working with commercial refrigeration equipment or systems
Knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems such as PDM Manage
