Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced MDM Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data integrations connecting enterprise source systems to the EnterWorks MDM hub. This role focuses on developing robust ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing data transformation logic, configuring data quality rules, and ensuring reliable data synchronization across the organization.

Two MDM Data Engineers will work collaboratively under the guidance of the Senior MDM Lead to deliver the technical integration components of a Customer MDM solution. The position blends hands-on integration development with technical assessment and optimization to ensure solution quality, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Development

  • Build source-to-stage integrations to extract customer data from multiple ERP systems (AS400, Sage variants, etc.), Salesforce CRM, and edge applications

  • Develop stage-to-hub data flows to load cleansed and matched customer records into EnterWorks

  • Build hub-to-ERP integrations enabling bidirectional synchronization of master customer data back to source systems

  • Implement data transformation and mapping rules based on logical party model specifications

  • Develop error handling, retry logic, and exception management for all integrations

  • Create data validation routines to ensure data quality throughout the pipeline

Technical Implementation

  • Configure and implement data quality rules in EnterWorks, including completeness, consistency, and accuracy checks

  • Implement match/merge algorithms and survivorship rules to support golden record creation

  • Develop and execute data migration scripts for initial customer data loads

  • Build and maintain automated testing frameworks for integration validation

  • Support iterative development through pilot and testing phases, progressing toward CI/CD practices

  • Optimize integration performance, reliability, and scalability

Technical Assessment & Documentation

  • Conduct technical assessments of source system data structures, APIs, and connectivity options

  • Profile source data to validate discovery findings and inform data quality rule development

  • Document technical specifications, including data mappings, transformation logic, and performance requirements

  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration and data flow issues

  • Support data governance teams with monitoring dashboards and technical reporting

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with the Senior MDM Lead to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Coordinate with the MDM Hub Developer on EnterWorks configuration and data flow design

  • Participate in technical discussions with client SMEs on source system access and integration approaches

  • Provide technical input for project planning, estimation, and delivery timelines
