Job Description

Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Architect to design, implement, and support the lifecycle of enterprise core systems, with a strong emphasis on Linux platforms. This role is highly technical and requires broad expertise across infrastructure, networking, and security domains. The Senior Systems Architect will collaborate with multiple teams to solve complex challenges, drive technology strategies, and enhance IT infrastructures. This is a hybrid position, requiring three days onsite and two days remote each week.

Job Details:

  • Document work activities, updates, notes, and resolutions in the enterprise ticketing system.
  • Design and implement both long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for systems.
  • Execute high-risk changes with discipline and precision to minimize outages.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS and implement required controls for audits.
  • Adapt to evolving business needs by quickly learning and deploying new technologies.
  • Manage engineering updates for support documentation, policies, procedures, and diagrams.
  • Define requirements and review vendor statements of work for IT projects.
  • Perform system maintenance and communicate activities to stakeholders.
  • Upgrade, migrate, or replace platforms prior to end-of-support deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field and 5+ years of related experience, OR HS/GED and 9+ years of related experience.
  • 5+ years managing on-premise private cloud and/or public cloud infrastructures.
  • Expert knowledge of hyper-converged platforms and storage technologies.
  • Strong background with firewalls, switches, routers, and software-defined networks.
  • Experience with threat protection platforms and web application firewalls.
  • Expertise in applications, servers, middleware, and enterprise platforms.
  • Knowledge of load balancing technologies.
  • Familiarity with site reliability engineering (SRE) and chaos engineering principles.
  • Experience scaling systems both horizontally and vertically.
  • Strong understanding of change management processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field and 5+ years of experience.
  • Passion for cloud infrastructure (private/public) and eagerness to adopt emerging technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Professional, courteous communication style and ability to adapt to hybrid/remote work.
  • Positive, proactive “can-do” attitude with a focus on delivering IT as a Service (ITaaS).
  • Willingness to participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.
  • High energy, urgency, and drive to deliver solutions effectively.

Location:

 Must be local to Fort Worth, Texas and meet hybrid working requirements.
