Job Description

Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to support both new product development and key infrastructure projects through detailed CAD modeling and design documentation. This role focuses on 3D modeling using Creo and Windchill, and is best suited for someone with strong CAD skills who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a full time, long term contract position.

Job Details:

  • Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using PTC Creo
  • Support Engineering Change and Release processes, including audits and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to interpret sketches, specifications, and concepts into technical models
  • Participate in new product development and/or enterprise systems integration projects (PLM to ERP)
  • Assist with Bill of Materials (BOMs) and part documentation
  • Use Windchill PLM software for version control and data management
  • Contribute to product lifecycle management and data standardization across the organization
  • Possible hands-on collaboration with manufacturing or tooling teams

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer (CAD-focused role)
  • Proficient in PTC Creo
  • Experience with Windchill or another PLM system
  • Ability to create models from sketches, verbal instructions, and specifications
  • Comfortable working independently and managing documentation workflows
  • Experience with metals (casting/machining) and/or plastics (injection molding) is a plus, but not required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Location:

This is a hybrid role based in Duluth, GA or Tallassee, AL, with an expectation of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week. Onsite days are flexible.
