Job Description

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Sr Operations Research Data Scientist to develop machine learning and linear/nonlinear programming models for hospital operations applications. Responsibilities will include researching, developing and implementing both predictive and prescriptive mathematical models in a real time while in a software engineering environment. 

Qualified candidates must be comfortable working 40 hours per week on a 6 month contract in a fully remote environment. 

Job Details:
Develop quantitative analysis and analytical models using operations research, machine learning, and structured programming languages.
C
ollaborate with cross-functional, non-technical teams for product design, development, implementation, and launch.
Identify, research, and solve large complex problems using big data and operations research and machine learning principles.
Implement operations research and machine learning models in a production environment.
Participate in model design, prototyping, and development for multiple simultaneous projects, interfacing with product delivery groups.
Communicate technical results effectively to non-technical audiences and other business units.
Stay informed about the latest analytical methods and research in mathematical optimization and machine learning.

 Required Skillsets:
Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Operations Research or Computer Science.
At least 1 year of professional experience developing machine learning models, including time series forecasting.
Intermediate/Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL.
Ability to write production-level code in an agile environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical material to non-technical audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a remote office environment.

Nice to have Skillsets:
Experience with Gurobi/CPLEX or other commercial solvers.
Experience with Tableau.
Experience deploying software in AWS and distributing machine learning models.
