Job Description

Clinical Systems Product Manager

About the Role

The Clinical Systems Product Manager owns the delivery, backlog, quality, and strategic direction of enterprise clinical platforms and services that support clinical, operational, and data workflows. Serving as the primary bridge between business stakeholders, clinical partners, vendors, and technical delivery teams, this role ensures work is clearly defined, prioritized, and delivered in alignment with organizational goals and long-term operational strategy.

This role requires a highly collaborative leader with strong communication skills who can operate effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Success in this position requires the ability to not only solve immediate operational challenges, but also think strategically and understand how systems, workflows, integrations, and business objectives connect across the broader enterprise landscape. The ideal candidate is able to see beyond individual tasks or issues and understand the larger organizational picture — not just a single tree, but the entire forest.

Preferred experience with Lightbeam and Jiva is highly valued, as these platforms are utilized internally to support population health initiatives, care gap analysis, and clinical workflow optimization.

The Product Manager is accountable for translating complex clinical and business needs into executable work while ensuring high-quality, reliable delivery of clinical integration and system capabilities within a regulated healthcare environment.

To Be Successful in This Role, You:

  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in product ownership, business analysis, or IT delivery roles supporting complex enterprise systems.

  • Have a minimum of four (4) years of direct experience as a Product Manager or in an equivalent delivery-accountable role, including ownership of backlog management, Agile execution, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and release delivery.

  • Demonstrate success working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments, including backlog prioritization, story writing with clear acceptance criteria, sprint planning and execution, and continuous improvement through retrospectives.

  • Bring experience supporting clinical integration systems, healthcare IT platforms, or regulated environments, with familiarity in data integration and interoperability concepts. Healthcare payer or provider experience preferred.

  • Possess strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, operational, technical, and executive teams.

  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and systems-level awareness, with the ability to connect operational workstreams to broader organizational and clinical objectives.

  • Preferred experience with Lightbeam and/or Jiva platforms supporting population health, utilization management, care coordination, or care gap analytics.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Serve as product owner and primary point of contact for assigned clinical systems, managing backlog prioritization and alignment to organizational objectives while fostering strong cross-functional and vendor partnerships.

  • Translate business and clinical needs into clear product deliverables, including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, release plans, and operational workflows that support predictable delivery outcomes.

  • Lead Agile delivery execution with Technical Program Managers and delivery teams, overseeing planning, coordination, progress tracking, sprint execution, and retrospectives while ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, quality, and operational objectives.

  • Proactively identify and manage delivery risks, dependencies, bottlenecks, and escalations to support successful implementation and long-term operational sustainability.

  • Lead UAT and release readiness activities, ensuring solutions meet operational, clinical, and quality standards while coordinating approvals, deployments, and post-release communication with stakeholders.

  • Communicate product status, delivery metrics, operational risks, strategic impacts, and key decisions clearly to leadership, governance forums, and cross-functional teams.

  • Partner closely with clinical, operational, analytics, and technical stakeholders to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, clinical workflows, interoperability requirements, and population health objectives.

  • Support and optimize systems that contribute to care gap analysis, population health initiatives, and integrated clinical workflows.

  • Own end-to-end product quality, documentation, and enablement activities while driving continuous process improvement and operational maturity.

  • Define and monitor delivery, operational, and performance metrics and use data-driven insights to improve product outcomes and stakeholder experience.

  • Other duties as assigned. Essential functions listed are not necessarily exhaustive and may be revised by the employer, at its sole discretion.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of healthcare IT environments, including clinical integration systems, population health platforms, payer/provider workflows, and the interaction between clinical, operational, and data ecosystems.

  • Ability to translate complex business and clinical requirements into prioritized product deliverables that support scalable, sustainable, and predictable delivery outcomes.

  • Knowledge of enterprise delivery and release management practices, including UAT coordination, change control, deployment readiness, operational support, and quality assurance within production environments.

  • Ability to identify operational and delivery risks early and drive appropriate mitigation strategies or escalations to protect organizational objectives and patient-impacting workflows.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to facilitate discussions, align stakeholders, manage expectations, and communicate complex concepts clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to think strategically while operating effectively at the execution level, balancing tactical delivery with long-term organizational objectives and ecosystem impacts.

  • Ability to operate independently with high accountability for delivery outcomes while managing multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed, and regulated healthcare environment.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and maintain structure, clarity, and momentum across competing priorities.
