Network Engineer (Mid–Senior | Cybersecurity-Focused)

Overview
We are seeking a Network Engineer with a strong cybersecurity foundation to support and modernize infrastructure in a growing healthcare environment. This role will play a critical part in transitioning from reactive operations to a forward-thinking, secure, and scalable network architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support secure network infrastructure (LAN/WAN)
- Configure and manage firewalls and security controls (Palo Alto, Cisco preferred)
- Configure and maintain core network components including routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure
- Monitor network performance and proactively maintain system health to prevent disruption
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues with urgency to minimize downtime
- Lead network transformation initiatives (e.g., VoIP migration, redundancy, fiber expansion)
- Develop and implement network security policies, procedures, and access controls
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities
- Perform security assessments aligned to industry standards (e.g., NIST, CIS)
- Evaluate current configurations and define future-state architecture
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align infrastructure with organizational and clinical operations
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of network engineering experience
- Strong cybersecurity expertise (firewalls, segmentation, access control)
- Experience with routing, switching, WAN architecture, and network design
- Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco preferred)
- Experience operating in environments requiring both support and transformation
- Ability to assess and improve immature or evolving infrastructure environments
- Strong communication skills — able to lead technical discussions and influence decisions
