Network Engineer (Mid–Senior | Cybersecurity-Focused)

Hybrid - Partial Remote 

Overview

We are seeking a Network Engineer with a strong cybersecurity foundation to support and modernize infrastructure in a growing healthcare environment. This role will play a critical part in transitioning from reactive operations to a forward-thinking, secure, and scalable network architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support secure network infrastructure (LAN/WAN)
• Configure and manage firewalls and security controls (Palo Alto, Cisco preferred)
• Configure and maintain core network components including routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure
• Monitor network performance and proactively maintain system health to prevent disruption
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues with urgency to minimize downtime
• Lead network transformation initiatives (e.g., VoIP migration, redundancy, fiber expansion)
• Develop and implement network security policies, procedures, and access controls
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities
• Perform security assessments aligned to industry standards (e.g., NIST, CIS)
• Evaluate current configurations and define future-state architecture
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align infrastructure with organizational and clinical operations

Required Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of network engineering experience
• Strong cybersecurity expertise (firewalls, segmentation, access control)
• Experience with routing, switching, WAN architecture, and network design
• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco preferred)
• Experience operating in environments requiring both support and transformation
• Ability to assess and improve immature or evolving infrastructure environments
• Strong communication skills — able to lead technical discussions and influence decisions
