Conduct in-depth analysis to understand and document business problems, process gaps, and opportunities for data-driven solutions
Define and maintain comprehensive documentation including:
Functional requirements

Lead stakeholder interviews and working sessions to elicit needs, confirm objectives, and validate proposed solutions
Collaborate with development teams on feasibility and implementation, ensuring accurate interpretation of requirements
Write and optimize advanced SQL queries to support ad-hoc reporting, root cause analysis, data validation, and production issue triage
Investigate and resolve data quality issues, identify gaps, and proactively recommend improvements to data pipelines and models
Support incoming trouble tickets related to data discrepancies, dashboard/report failures, or ETL defects, and manage resolution workflow
Partner with engineering and data governance teams to remediate systemic data issues and ensure ongoing integrity across Azure and Snowflake
Operate within a Kanban Agile environment — managing multiple parallel initiatives with evolving priorities
Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and status reporting in Jira
Track work progress across requirements, development, and QA cycles with accountability to timelines and deliverables
Assist Product Owners and PMs with change control documentation and UAT coordination
Deliver concise weekly status updates on risks, blockers, and progress metrics
Partner with reporting teams to align business logic with data definitions across Tableau dashboards and SQL-based extracts
Contribute to standardization of BI processes, including the development of master queries and semantic layers
Support power users and business analysts with ad-hoc requests and advanced data exploration
Create clear, user-friendly documentation including training materials, user manuals, tip sheets, and data lineage diagrams
Contribute to knowledge-sharing and mentoring of team members on business analysis best practices and technical troubleshooting
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
7+ years experience in Business/Systems Analysis, preferably in healthcare or payer environments
Advanced SQL expertise — proven ability to write complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions, and perform diagnostic analysis
Hands-on experience working with Azure Data Services and Snowflake
Strong knowledge of data modeling, relational databases, and ETL processes
Prior success operating within Agile/Kanban project delivery teams
Familiarity with Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence) for requirement tracking and sprint planning
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other visualization tools a plus
Experience creating User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and managing deliverables in data-centric environments
Healthcare payer experience (claims, eligibility, enrollment, risk adjustment, etc.)
Experience supporting data governance, metadata management, or regulatory compliance projects
Familiarity with tools such as Tableau Prep, dbt, Apache Airflow, or comparable solutions
Knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, or NCQA quality metrics a plus
Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain adaptable in a fast-paced environment
