Position Summary
Responsible for driving the execution of enterprise IT and data initiatives with both strategic oversight and direct technical contribution. Leads projects and performs hands-on technical problem solving, ensuring that the enterprise data platform, SaaS applications, and AWS-native IT infrastructure are delivered effectively, on time, and in alignment with organizational priorities. Partners closely with the Senior Data Architect, Product Management, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into executable solutions. Embed cybersecurity practices across IT projects and data workflows — ensuring solutions are not only functional and scalable but also secure and compliant. Accountable for resolving technical challenges, managing outsource vendors, enforcing AWS and security standards, and delivering reliable, compliant, and high-quality technology outcomes across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Lead and own AWS and SaaS IT projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring objectives are met on time, within scope, and to defined standards.
- Resolve technical problems, including writing SQL queries, developing Python scripts, and analyzing data discrepancies to ensure accuracy and continuity of operations.
- Collaborate with Product Management to align technology initiatives with business priorities, ensuring deliverables meet operational and strategic requirements.
- Develop and deliver reports, dashboards, and analytics that provide actionable insights to business, clinical, and executive teams.
- Oversee and drive Generative AI initiatives, ensuring projects are scoped, resourced, and executed to deliver measurable value.
- Maintain oversight of enterprise IT systems performance and reliability, including AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda), Salesforce Health Cloud, Google Workspace, UCaaS, and BI platforms.
- Manage outsource vendors providing IT infrastructure, development, and support services — holding them accountable for delivery, cost, SLAs, and quality.
- Ensure AWS architecture and SaaS integrations are designed and operated with cybersecurity, compliance, and scalability at the forefront.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure IT initiatives withstand audits, risk assessments, and regulatory reviews (HIPAA, HITECH, CCPA/CPRA).
- Identify and remove risks, bottlenecks, and blockers that could delay delivery, while escalating strategically when required.
- Drive accountability across cross-functional teams and external partners by setting clear expectations, tracking deliverables, and enforcing commitments.
- Implement AWS and IT best practices for observability, monitoring, documentation, and lifecycle management.
- Act as the bridge between strategy, product requirements, vendors, and hands-on technical execution, ensuring that technology outcomes support business value.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, IT operations, or technical delivery.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch) in a SaaS environment.
- Strong skills in SQL and Python, with the ability to script, query, and automate.
- Demonstrated ability to manage outsourced IT vendors, ensuring quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Broad technical background across enterprise SaaS platforms and data/reporting systems.
- Strong foundation in cybersecurity practices and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, CCPA/CPRA).
- Experience overseeing and coordinating Generative AI projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Proven track record of owning issues to resolution and driving complex projects to completion.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on scalability and performance.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
Desired
- Experience in healthcare IT, particularly with Enhanced Care Management (ECM) or CalAIM initiatives.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Health Cloud and BI/reporting platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Experience with DevOps or cloud automation best practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, observability).
- Project management certification (PMP, Agile/Scrum Master, or equivalent).
Work Environment
- ***The is a strong preference for this person to be in the Los Angeles area of California so that they can be onsite 1 day a week for full collaboration.
- Ability to work remotely, with reliable internet access.
- Frequent use of computers, phones, video conference tools and related office equipment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Adequate hearing and clear speech for in-person or telephone communication. Vision suitable for reading various documents, including memos, screens, and forms.
- Occasional travel for in-person meetings or team events.
- May require occasional evening or early-morning hours to support business needs.
