SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a Databricks Architect working for a Consulting company in the Northwest, supporting a FINTECH Customer to help with a scaling problem with Big Data, as they are currently building a Unity Catalog. Must have experience with Databricks on Azure stack and primary goal is to build an Enterprise data model from a whole lot of unstructured data from start to finish.
We are looking for an Architect that can leverage Databricks to manage Data links, as a Lake house solution. The Architect should be able to demonstrate and effectively create a data model for the enterprise that makes sense in the context of the business and utilizing Generative AI.

EXPERIENCE:
- This individual will be responsible for building out a unity catalog, migrating user object tables, and managing a data lake with over a petabyte of data and 3,000 tables that have implemented Databricks from start to finish.
- This individual will have a proven track record with Databricks and potentially some consulting experience.
- This individual have implemented Databricks in Enterprise environments while utilizing best practices in a Data Lakehouse.
- This individual will have both technical and interpersonal skills to design, describe, and build a Data Lakehouse architect solution to meet the end goal of the entire organization to use data and AI.

SCOPE: This is a contract position that may lead into a full time position in the FINTECH industry and/or lead into a consultative leader with the current team for other engagement opportunities with a broader scope to meet changing business needs.

As a Data Architect / Consultant Lead:
- Build and be responsible for an annual services portfolio of $4M+ with P&L responsibility.
- Develop a Go-to-Market strategy and associated offerings for your practice area and execute them in collaboration with the Leadership Team, Marketing, Account Management & Delivery teams.
- You lead Business Development for your practice by publishing, attending conferences and events, and you seek out new approaches and opportunities for expanding your customer base.
- Collaborate with, and mentor your team with a relentless focus on quality and value as defined by the customer.
- You are a Product Visionary and experienced Executive Sponsor who establishes the path, relationship, rules of engagement, clarifies product vision and holds the product vision through delivery.
- Serve our team with leadership and support to ensure our clients expectations are exceeded and our overall client satisfaction is exceptional.
- Participate in project delivery by spending 40% of your time billing on the exciting engagements comprising your practice area. In short, lead from the front.

Education / Experience:
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or another applied quantitative technical field. Nice to have: MBA.
- 10-15+ years of overall technology leadership experience in Data Strategy, Data Architecture & Engineering Patterns, Data Science & ML Methodologies, Analytics/BI Program Management and Data Governance. 2+ years of division or project financial responsibility required.
- 5+ years of leadership experience working with emerging Data Engineering technologies such as (Databricks Delta Lake, Apache Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Elastic Search, Python/R, SQL, Data Ops)
- Expertise with multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience and leadership with BI Analytics platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.) and warehousing solutions to facilitate self-service analytic capabilities.
- Deep contacts in industry and with corporate decision-makers and consulting experience required
