Overview

Under general direction, responsible for the sale of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment and systems to primary decision makers with owners, contractors and consultants responsible for new construction and renovated buildings. Builds and manages long term customer relationships/partnerships with target mechanical contractors and construction management firms. Promote the company, value proposition to contractors and consultants by providing technical solutions to the customer’s business and operational needs as well as demonstrating applicable technical knowledge.

Execute the sales process to aid in cultivating and managing long-term relationships and in discovering, qualifying and closing new sales opportunities. Utilize sales tools to plan and document progress as well as increase business opportunity in accounts. Obtain and close sales on a monthly basis.  Seek to expand the depth and breadth of offerings within that account.

Responsibilities

  • Sells the company’s offerings confidently and persuasively to building owners, focusing on new construction and renovations while managing multiple HVAC equipment and system projects.
  • Builds relationships with contractors and consultants, actively listening to their needs and demonstrating technical expertise to establish credibility and trust.
  • Identifies and engages potential customers, develops a network of contacts, and leverages technical knowledge to align proposals with building specifications.
  • Addresses customers' operational and environmental needs, recommending solutions that highlight the company’s competitive advantages.
  • Influences system design and construction by creating competitive bids, proposals, and cost/benefit analyses, negotiating value, and closing sales.
  • Utilizes sales tools effectively, manages a high-activity sales pipeline, collaborates with internal teams, keeps management informed, and participates in trade shows to ensure customer satisfaction.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred).
  • MBA and/or progressive field sales experience is a plus.

 Qualifications

  • Three-five plus years selling in the HVAC industry.
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.
  • Overnight travel is limited to less than 20%.
