Job Description

Overview
The role of Lead Engineer/Designer is the main point of contact for the technical aspects of projects and a key contributor to company technical standards. They coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure that projects meet the requirements for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Through training, research, and experience develop expertise in a subject area with sufficient depth to assist others in the design or implementation of those subject systems.
• Delivers technical training seminars inside the company, especially in their subject matter expertise.
• Works independently to produce technical designs based on criteria from the client and project manager.
• Provides on-going technical guidance to the design team.
• Ensures that the design team completes design work within the hours budgeted by the project manager.
• Works independently to lead project documentation efforts for all phases of a project based on direction from the client and project manager.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college required.

 
Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.

Must-Have Skills

• At least 6 years of related building systems design experience.
• Proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD
• Proficient in design software tools
• Microsoft Office Suite of products
• Review construction phase submittals
• Obtains approval prior spending over the project budget for hours.
