Our client is a BC-based consulting firm that redefines how environmental assessments and permitting are approached in Canada. With deep experience in both industry and government, they specialize in guiding projects through complex regulatory systems by aligning the goals of proponents, Indigenous Nations, and regulators. Their method focuses on maximizing project value by managing risk, streamlining timelines, and supporting meaningful Indigenous engagement. Our client delivers results by shaping the process and not just reacting to it.
They're currently building their consulting team in Vancouver and looking for several professionals with across the experience spectrum to manage the environmental assessment application process within the mining and energy sectors.
What You'll Do:- Helping clients understand and navigate environmental assessments at federal, provincial, and territorial levels.
- Making sure regulatory processes are efficient and fair.
- Leading multidisciplinary teams that deliver environmental assessments from start to finish.
- Researching regulations and creating strategies to set clients up for success.
- Developing permitting roadmaps to minimize risks.
- Supporting public consultations and engaging with stakeholders.
- Mentoring junior professionals.
What You'll Bring to the Table:- 5–12 years of experience in environmental assessments, permitting, or regulatory work, either in consulting, government, or as a project proponent.
- A collaborative mindset, curiosity, and willingness to work outside traditional silos.
- Very strong experience working with Indigenous nations and an understanding of Indigenous rights, title, and related legal frameworks.
- Strong project leadership, client management, and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Background in mining or other major resource projects is an asset.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in contributing to business development.
